This semester, Human Rights students at San Jose State University are working with the ACLU of Northern California to educate and engage more people in conversation and action with our state budget crisis, and how our system of mass incarceration is taking important dollars away from funding for higher education and other important social services.
Please join a ACLU-sponsored event called “Think Outside the Box” on April 9th, 2013 from 6-8pm, to be held at Washington Square Hall, Room 109, at San José State University.
Criminal Justice and Drug Policy staffers from the ACLU will be speaking about California’s broken criminal justice system, and reforms that can be made to ensure we continue to keep higher education as a higher priority in the state.
At the event, we also intend to have time for people to share their stories, learn about actions they can take, and get to know each other over refreshments.
