Faculty Bio

Roy Roberg received his doctorate from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.  His areas of specialization include general policing and police behavior; justice organizational behavior, change, and innovation; and evaluation research and policy analysis.   He has published extensively–in both academic journals and chapters in edited books–in the areas of police behavior, organizations, managerial issues, and higher education.  He is the editor of an anthology on policing and a co-editor of an anthology on corrections, and is the author or co-author of numerous texts, including the third edition of Police Management and the fifth edition of Police & Society.

He has served as the Chairs of Criminal Justice Departments at San Jose State University and Louisiana State University, and as Vice-Chair at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.  Further, he has provided executive management training, grant /organization development, and program evaluation to numerous justice agencies.  In addition, he consulted as a police expert witness for many years.  Finally, he served as a police officer in a large county department of public safety in Washington State.
